A recent Montana train accident tragically took the life of a truck driver Wednesday afternoon. The accident occurred at train crossing east of Culbertson when a freight train struck a semi truck.
The freight train was hauling gravel through northeastern Montana when it accidentally hit and killed a semi-truck driver who was at the train crossing. According to the Montana Highway Patrol, the truck driver, who is believed to have been in his late 30’s, died early Wednesday afternoon at the scene of the crash.
Montana Highway Trooper Jacob Ayers told The Billings Gazette that the occupants of the train were not injured in the accident.
The Montana train accident is still being investigated by accident officials. The victim’s name and information has not yet been released.
Unfortunately, this isn’t the only tragedy that recently took place in Roosevelt County. Aside from the most recent Montana train accident, six other people were killed two months ago in several highway crashes, including two men who died when a freight train struck a commercial truck also east of Culbertson. Both men were locals from Culbertson, Montana.
